Challenge
Eggborough Power Limited own traditional coal and gas-fired power stations but wanted to diversify into the digital energy arena. They commissioned us to create a new UK B2B energy brand. Its aim is to make it easy for small businesses to check the energy market and enter into a new contract that’s right for them.
We commissioned qualitative research from hundreds of SMEs and gain key insights into the market mindset. Based on this we created a brand framework and named the new company Energy Scanner – the smart way to scan and switch energy providers.
We wanted to convey a simple message of saving through scanning and switching. So utilised a brand language of simple line illustrations. Full activity included web UX/UI, OOH advertising, digital banner advertising, print campaigns and e-marketing.

To clearly define and police the new brand, we created a full brand guidelines. It included logo marque, colour ways, tone of voice and illustration style.
